GIRL!
It seems silly to say like that since I have announced it to everyone at this point, but it still makes me giggle with excitement. I will not deny the fact that I was hoping for a girl from the moment that we found out I was pregnant. I had moments where I considered that possibility of this little one being a boy, but my heart was set on a girl. I don't know if our little girl will come early, on time, or late but I am filled with so much anticipation for what the coming year will bring. I cannot believe that her due date is only 3 months away, I don't know where the time has gone.
Here are the pictures that we used to announce that we are expecting a little girl:
And then here's one that I did not post on facebook, but I like because it's similar to what we did to announce that we were expecting:
Obviously since we had the anatomy scan done that means that we were finally able to get the insurance situation squared away and see a doctor. The anatomy scan was really fun for me, to be able to see all the details of our little girl. She measured perfectly in every way, and there was nothing for us to worry about. So as long as she stays in there full term she will be perfectly healthy, which is a relief to me. It was hard not knowing for sure for such a long time.
This week I will be going in to take the 2 hour glucose test to check for gestational diabetes. I don't foresee it being an issue since most of my cravings this pregnancy besides for grilled cheese sandwiches in the beginning have been for fruits and vegetables, but you never know. My next doctors appointment it November 13 and after that appointment I will probably start having appointments every two weeks since I will be in the 3rd trimester at that point. I can tell my little girl is having some growth spurts because my belly has increased in size so much over the past couple weeks. She gets crazy active sometimes now, it almost seems like she is trying to push her way out of my body with how much my stomach moves. It will be fun to see what her temperament will be once she is born.
Some other exciting/fun things:
Leanna had her anatomy scan today and found out she is having a little boy. One of the funnest things about this pregnancy is knowing that my sister is only a few months behind me and the anticipation of having our kids grow up together. It will be so much fun!
River is growing up so quickly it seems. We decided to weigh her the other day and she is about 7.5lbs. Brian and I joked the other day that she is about the size our little girl will be when she is first born. Usually we put her in the spare bathroom overnight so we can make sure she isn't getting into trouble, but about we week ago because Leanna and Doug were spending the night we actually let her sleep in our room. We left our bathroom door open so she could use her litter box, and we had her bed by the closet.....She decided she would rather sleep with us instead...or rather sleep on me. I wish I could say I had a restful night, but its hard enough to change sleep positions when pregnant without having to worry about where the kitten is. River enjoyed it very much though. Throughout the night after each position change (and other times) she would start kneading me and the blankets. At one point she was enjoying herself so much she was drooling on me.
Brian is enjoying grad school so far. It's a lot of work, and even though he is home a lot of the time I don't get to spend as much time with him as I'd like because he is studying. But I do enjoy the fact that he is home studying vs. staying on campus to study. He is busy with midterms right now so it seems a little more hectic, but it should all be worth it in the end.
I will probably make another post fairly soon with pictures of Halloween fun (since it is only a few days away) and progress that we have made on the nursery.
